HMS Cossack 13 04 94 Narvik Postmark on Norwegian Stamp The 50th Anniversary of Battle of Narvik. Picture Cachet of HMS Warspite in Narvik fjord on April 13th 1940. One of the greatest destroyer battles of World War 11, approximately 2,000 German sailors on dry land in Norway, and with a Victorious Home Fleet and a posthumous VC being awarded to Captain Warburton – Lee. It is a Historical fact that due to the loss of the 10 Destroyers which were the most modern, and a quarter of the German Destroyer force, the evacuation of Dunkirk was more successful than if those Destroyers had been allowed to return to Germany and then to be turned loose in the English Channel to destroy our Armada of Little Ships. Personally Signed by AB Jack A E Meades RM aboard HMS Cossack Battle of Narvik 13th April 1940 Certified Copy No 27 of 25 £9.95
