The First Direct Crossing of the Atlantic was made on 14 Jun 1919 from St John's Newfoundland, Canada to Clifden , Ireland by Captain J.Alcock and Lt A.W.Brown in a Vickers Vimy. The 60th Anniversary flight was made from Goose Airport, Newfoundland, Canada to RAF Greenham Common International Air Tatto overflying Clifden on 21 Jun 1979 by Sqn A.J.H.Alcock ( Capt Alcock's Nephew ) and Flt Lt W.N.Brown ( not related to Lt Brown ) in Phantom XV424.
